Adult Day Center Direct Care Staff
Position Summary:
The Direct Care Staff at an Adult Day Center is responsible for providing compassionate, hands-on support to adults with varying physical, cognitive, and emotional needs in a safe, respectful, and engaging environment. This role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life through personal care assistance, activity facilitation, and attentive supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist participants with daily living activities, including toileting, feeding, mobility, and hygiene.
Monitor and document participants’ health, behavior, and overall well-being.
Support and encourage participation in therapeutic and recreational activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, light exercise, and social interaction.
Implement individual care plans and communicate changes or concerns to appropriate team members.
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment at all times.
Assist with meal preparation, serving, and clean-up according to dietary needs.
Foster a warm, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere for all participants.
Collaborate with nurses, social workers, and other team members to provide holistic care.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions to stay current on best practices and compliance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; CNA or related certification preferred.
Prior experience in caregiving, adult day services, or related field.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable with strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow instructions and maintain detailed documentation.
Must pass background checks and any required health screenings.
